Information we process

We process your email address, account identifiers, nickname, profile image and a hash of your password to provide and secure your account. We store friend requests, friendships, group membership, invitations and joining requests. We also process the events you create, event times and repetition rules, reminder preferences, responses, optional event locations, group messages, and images or attachments you choose to upload.

An event location is a place attached to an event; it is not a record of your continuous movements. Place search uses Apple's map services. Images and files are uploaded when you choose to share them. We do not need access to your entire photo library to receive a selected image.

We process authentication sessions, device installation identifiers and registered notification tokens where applicable. Technical and security records may include IP addresses, request paths and times, errors and rate-limit records. If you contact us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you send. Reports and moderation records may include the reported content, account identifiers, your explanation, review notes and actions taken.

Purposes and visibility

We use this information to operate accounts, synchronize reminders, deliver the available reminder features, support group interactions, respond to support requests, investigate reports and protect the service from abuse. Shared group messages, events and other group content are visible to eligible group members; profile information is exposed through the app's user discovery and social features. Authorized system administrators can review reports and relevant evidence. Service administration can require access to stored data; the service does not promise end-to-end encryption.

Local notification and alarm permissions are controlled by iOS. In-app reminder switches control RemindUs scheduling and do not revoke your operating-system permissions. Some event information is stored locally to support reminders and widgets. Lock-screen or widget content may be visible to people with access to your device, depending on your system settings.

Service providers

The test backend and its database are hosted by DigitalOcean in the United States. Cloudflare provides the public connection proxy and security protections and processes network traffic in delivering those services. Apple provides the operating-system reminder functions and map services used by the app. Support email is handled using Gmail. Their relevant services process information under their own applicable terms and privacy practices. Data may be processed outside your state or country. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising; the app and these pages do not include advertising or third-party analytics SDKs.

Remote push delivery, Sign in with Apple and external image-moderation integrations are not currently enabled in the deployed test release. We will update this policy when changes to the deployed service materially change its data processing.

Retention and deletion

Ordinary account and user-created content is retained to provide the service until it is removed under the app's deletion functions or service administration. You can request account deletion in Settings → Delete account. This removes the active account and its associated ordinary account data, messages and created events through the service's deletion process. Content independently created by other users, such as their own messages or screenshots, is not necessarily removed.

Report text, evidence and associated review notes are removed from the active database by the next hourly cleanup run after 90 days from case closure. Open cases are flagged for a human review of the need for continued retention after 180 days, and every 180 days after an explicit retention review. An administrator must record a reason to continue retention, or resolve the case and begin its closure-based deletion period. This review deadline is not an automatic deletion deadline for open cases. While a ban remains active, only the account identifier, generic suspension reason, responsible administrator and action time are kept in the ban record. Standalone unban audit notes are deleted after 90 days. These rules also apply where report records remain after an account is deleted. Rotating backups may temporarily contain older copies.

Database backups are generated daily and the latest three successful backups are retained. Older backups are removed when new backups succeed; this is not a guaranteed three-day deadline. Copies of deleted information may remain in those backups until rotation. Container logs rotate by size (up to three 10 MB files per container), rather than a fixed number of days. Infrastructure-provider records and support correspondence require their own retention handling. Contact us about the handling of a particular support or privacy request.

Your choices and contact

You can edit your profile, manage reminder permissions, block users, leave groups and delete your account. Contact [email protected] with privacy questions or requests about your information. We may ask for information reasonably needed to verify that a request concerns your account; never send your password. The current test service is for people aged 13 or older and is not offered to children under 13. Do not create an account if you are under 13. We have not introduced a parental-consent program for younger children. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and remove that information as appropriate. The age restriction is a service eligibility rule, not a claim that age-verification technology is in place.

We will update this page and its effective date when this policy changes and provide additional notice when appropriate for a material change.
